Application Process

Project Six/The Commons welcomes any inquiries concerning our program. Our Directors take the time needed to discuss our program and to personally answer your questions about The Commons and discuss if your child is an appropriate match for the unique approach that we offer.

Individual tours for prospective parents provide you with the opportunity to visit and learn more about the school’s program, philosophy and approach.

Together, if we feel The Commons is a fit for your child, an interview will be scheduled either in person or via Skype. This 60-90 minute meeting will review your child’s needs, provide time for questions and give your child an opportunity to see the residential dorm and school campus.

It is important that we gather all relevant information regarding your child’s background and historical information. This could include recent professional documentation such as a psychological and psycho-educational testing or evaluations; treatment plans and/or discharge summaries from prior therapeutic settings; Individualized Education Programs; and any other documents that would provide information that would help us determine if your child is best suited for our program. In some cases, a personal conversation with past treatment teams members may need to take place. Permission to do so will need to be made in writing.

Once our Directors have heard from the professional(s) mentioned above, parents will be contacted within a few days with the admissions decision.

The final step of the process entails parent(s) completing all necessary forms prior to the student starting The Commons and the appropriate school program. Our Intake Coordinator will contact you and take you step-by-step through the moving in process.
